The African Development Bank’s Information Technology (IT) Department (CHIS), organised and hosted a meeting for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and high-level representatives from International Financial Institutions (IFIs) from September 23rd to 25th 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The meeting included the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), European Investment Bank (EIB), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), UNICC and the Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation (SIF).
Some of the key discussion topics included Big Data and analytics, cloud initiatives, legal implications, data protection, ERP modernization, change management, technical collaborations and information sharing.
SIF’s CEO, Christophe Dossarps, shared together with the other delegates its experience on these specific topics, but most importantly on digital transformation and the overall IT benefits for business intelligence.
The multilateral platform for quality infrastructure SOURCE, developed by SIF, is an example of IFIs’ technical collaboration and information sharing for benchmarking results. To this end, SIF will continue collaborating with IFIs, UNICC, and other key partners to promote transformative ICT solutions for a sustainable future. This event was a unique opportunity to work towards this goal.
