Pedro Nicolau, Head of Integrations at SIF, carried out a mission to Manila, Philippines, to engage with Government of the Philippines’ stakeholders and development partners and to advance the work related to the implementation of SOURCE in the country.
Discussions with government technical teams provided an opportunity to review progress to date and to align on the next phases of the work plan, including pilot activities (Pilot Phase) and capacity building (Training Phase). The meetings also included a presentation of the new SOURCE platform layout, highlighting its evolving functionalities and implications for improving project preparation, digital workflows, user experience, and performance.
Further exchanges with central planning and financing stakeholders focused on providing an update on SOURCE implementation and ensuring alignment with national planning frameworks and processes. These discussions supported coordination across institutions involved in public investment and infrastructure development.
The mission also included meetings with international development partners to share updates on SOURCE deployment in the Philippines and to reinforce synergies with the related technical assistance and donors’ activities.
Engagements with technical teams working on project development processes built on earlier strategic discussions, allowing for more detailed exchanges on potential pathways for the use of SOURCE. These discussions explored options for integrating SOURCE into existing digital workflows and identifying priority areas for follow‑up support.
The mission highlighted the strong collaboration with Philippine counterparts and reinforced the role of SOURCE in supporting more structured, transparent, and digital approaches to project preparation.
Overall, the mission helped align expectations and priorities across key stakeholders, strengthened coordination with national institutions and development partners, and clarified follow‑up actions required to advance the phased implementation of SOURCE in the Philippines.
