Source has officially been launched across participating Member States of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), marking the beginning of a regional implementation that will support governments in strengthening public investment and infrastructure project management through a common digital platform.
The launch brings together Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in a shared initiative to implement Source through a coordinated regional approach. Supported by Global Affairs Canada and delivered in partnership with the OECS Commission, the programme represents an important expansion of the Source Community in the Caribbean.
The kick-off meeting formally initiated the implementation process and established a common framework for the activities that will guide the programme over the coming months. Participating Member States reviewed the implementation methodology, governance arrangements and workplan that will support the progressive integration of Source within their respective institutional environments.
The initiative reflects the growing recognition of the value of digital solutions in supporting the preparation, management and monitoring of infrastructure and public investment projects. Through Source, participating governments will have access to a structured platform that supports project development while enabling stronger coordination, improved visibility of project information and more consistent approaches across institutions.
A key feature of the regional implementation is the opportunity to adapt Source to the realities of Small Island Developing States. As implementation progresses, participating countries will contribute to identifying requirements and priorities that reflect the scale and characteristics of infrastructure projects across the Eastern Caribbean, helping ensure that the platform continues to respond to diverse institutional contexts.
Beyond the deployment of a digital platform, the initiative will create a regional network of users and practitioners working within a common framework for project preparation and management. This approach will support the exchange of experiences, strengthen regional collaboration and contribute to the continued evolution of Source through practical implementation across multiple jurisdictions.
The launch marks the beginning of the Inception and Needs Assessment phases, during which participating Member States will work closely with SIF and the OECS Commission to identify national priorities, assess existing processes and prepare for subsequent implementation activities.
As Source continues to expand across regions and institutions worldwide, the OECS implementation demonstrates the platform’s ability to support both national and regional approaches to infrastructure planning, project preparation and public investment management.
