The implementation of Source in Jordan reached an important milestone with the Needs Assessment Phase mission taking place in Amman from July 5th to 9th, 2026. SIF’s mission met with key government institutions involved in the preparation, management and oversight of public-private partnership (PPP) projects to assess implementation needs, present the Source platform, collect key information to be digitalised on Source and and support the future deployment of Source across the PPP ecosystem in Jordan.
The needs assessment phase provided an opportunity to map the existing PPP processes and institutional arrangements while examining how Source can support the digitalisation and standardisation of project preparation, appraisal, approval, monitoring and reporting activities. Initial work was undertaken to map national PPP procedures, project stages and governance requirements to Source workflows and methodologies, laying the foundations for a country-specific implementation approach aligned with international good practices.
The mission also facilitated discussions on strengthening coordination across government entities involved in infrastructure planning and project delivery. Particular attention was given to the role that digital solutions can play in supporting project quality, improving institutional collaboration, enhancing knowledge management and providing greater visibility over project progress throughout the PPP lifecycle.
Opportunities for future interoperability between Source and existing government systems were also explored. These discussions highlighted the potential to strengthen information exchange, reduce duplication of effort and improve consistency in project data management across public institutions. Such integration opportunities will be further assessed as implementation activities progress.
In addition, the mission provided an opportunity to present Source’s hosting arrangements, cybersecurity, and data governance. These discussions will contribute to ensuring that the implementation of Source is aligned with national requirements while maintaining internationally recognised standards for security, confidentiality and data protection.
The strong engagement demonstrated throughout the mission reflected a shared commitment to modernising PPP project management and strengthening infrastructure project preparation in Jordan. Stakeholders recognised the value of structured methodologies, improved project monitoring and enhanced reporting capabilities in supporting more effective decision-making and long-term institutional capacity. The successful completion of the Needs Assessment mission marks an important step towards the implementation of Source in Jordan.
