Ghana: SIF and the National Development Planning Commission on SOURCE

Last week, SIF had a jam-packed week in Accra, Ghana, delivering inperson training sessions, meeting with all relevant stakeholders in Ghana and finalising key strategic decisions for Source implementation in-country.

The main session with Ghana’s National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), brought together senior leadership and technical teams to firstly undertake relevant training on Source and align on strengthening project preparation for infrastructure projects on Source in Ghana.

The session focused on a detailed walkthrough of the Source platform, train-the-trainer detailed sessions, combined with practical discussions on how the tool can be used and adapted specifically to Ghana’s national development planning context.

The training gathered more than 12 participants, including directors, demonstrating strong senior level commitment and high strategic interest in the platform.

During the week, SIF also conducted multiple bilateral meetings with a range of stakeholders in Ghana, including National Information Technology Agency  (NITA), Data Protection Commission (DPC), Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Ghana Statistical Services (GSS) and GETFund. In parallel meetings also included discussions with other international development partners active in Ghana, reinforcing alignment and collaboration around infrastructure planning and delivery.

We also extend our appreciation to State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) for supporting Source implementation in Ghana and being active in a number of meetings during the week.

Looking ahead there is a lot of positive work to do for project preparation in Ghana!
