SIF and WAPP announce collaboration for SDG-driven PPPs

SIF is pleased to announce the signature of a cooperation agreement with the World Association of PPP Units & Professionals (WAPPP) to reinforce collaboration with professionals. This will put the UN 2030 Agenda at the core PPP preparation and implementation.

WAPPP advocates for an SDG-driven approach which is in the best interest of all stakeholders as it de-risks projects and ensures proper long-term success of the PPP facility. The WAPPP networks its resources to incubate new approaches for public-private partnerships and debunk myths around problems related to poor public opinion. It convenes webinars, seminars and posts blogs on PPP issues and contexts related to collective impact models. WAPPP acts as a neutral facilitator to capture knowledge and build capacities for PPP units and PPP professionals.

SOURCE is the multilateral platform for sustainable infrastructure covering all phases of the project lifecycle for PPPs and traditional procurement, from early options appraisal through to implementation, thereby allowing the delivery of relevant guidance at the right juncture in the project’s lifecycle. SOURCE provides a comprehensive map of all aspects to be considered when developing quality and sustainable infrastructure with governance, technical, economic, legal, financial, environmental, and social issues as well as allowing the definition of specific targets to fulfil the SDGs and Paris Agreement.

To kick off this collaboration, WAPPP organised a webinar on April 1st 2021, and presented how SOURCE supports the digitalisation agenda of governments and the preparation of documentation for well-structured PPPs including the UN 2030 Agenda.
