Last week, the Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation (SIF) was on mission in the Kyrgyz Republic for a pilot phase of Source integration, as well as for participation in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) conference held in the Issyk-Kul region.
The CAREC event, hosted by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and organised with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), brought together senior officials from across Central Asia to exchange knowledge and best practices in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). Source user countries from Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and the host country, the Kyrgyz Republic, joined the regional dialogue, sharing innovative and practical solutions for advancing PPPs in their respective countries.
SIF was honoured to present Source during the conference, highlighting the platform’s ability to support governments in the preparation, development, and long-term maintenance of infrastructure projects, with a particular focus at the CAREC conference on Source’s ability to support cross-border projects and PPP projects. Several powerful case studies from Central Asian partners showcased how Source can be a transformative tool in PPP planning and execution across the region.
In parallel to the conference, SIF conducted a highly productive mission in Bishkek. The team held meetings with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Digitalisation, the National Investment Agency (NIA), the PPP Unit, the Ministry of Economy, and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the integration’s key donor partners. Additionally, a full-day piloting session with relevant ministries and institutions allowed for strong progress in advancing Source integration in the Kyrgyz Republic.
SIF extends its heartfelt thanks to ADB for organising the impactful CAREC event and to our Kyrgyz counterparts for their warm hospitality and excellent coordination of both the conference and the mission activities. Special appreciation goes to the PPP Unit and the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic for their dedicated support throughout the week.
The mission marked an important milestone in deepening regional collaboration and the integration of Source in the Kyrgyz Republic.
