SOURCE success stories update

In 2019, the SOURCE Council members (Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Bank Group) endorsed SIF to implement the SOURCE platform with countries.

As of April 2024, SOURCE was successfully implemented in 5 countries. It is being integrated in 12 countries, and 38 countries expressed official interest in benefiting from SOURCE integration at the national or subnational level.

Based on SIF’s experience promoting and managing the SOURCE platform, appropriate institutional and technical support to government agencies is crucial for the software’s successful implementation. Like any new system integration within an organisation, change management must be carefully considered. The integration process enables SIF to customise the platform to fit each country’s regulatory framework and project cycle. Originally designed as a universal tool and knowledge dissemination vehicle, the platform can be operationalised to meet the specific needs of each country.

As part of the integration process, SIF customises SOURCE to fit the respective countries’ regulatory context and project cycle. This includes integrating specific approval steps, permits, and licenses, along with developing bespoke reporting functionalities and providing training to all concerned agencies. One of the key aspects of this approach is to ensure that the country has political support and commitment to the integration, which will ensure its successful implementation. The report below presents a list of the first success stories from the countries where SOURCE is currently being integrated.

After working for over five years to integrate SOURCE worldwide, we express our gratitude to our partners for their support. We are delighted to share our success stories and users’ feedback.
