Successful piloting of Source platform in Georgia

In the first week of March 2025, SIF visited Georgia for the piloting phase of Source implementation, making significant strides in integrating the Source platform and ensuring its interoperability with existing systems. During the visit, SIF engaged with key stakeholders, including the World Bank (WB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Agency, and the Ministry of Finance.

The mission focused on presenting the functionalities of Source, clarifying its role in PPP projects, specifically to strengthen the analytical capacity of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia involved in infrastructure pipeline development. The possible expansion of Source to Public Investment Management (PIM) was discussed and will be reassessed following the successful implementation of Source with the PPP Agency.

A series of pilot testing workshops yielded valuable insights into sector-specific requirements, system stability, user accessibility, and data integration processes, emphasising the importance of systematic data collection and quality assurance. The PPP Agency provided constructive feedback, offering recommendations for platform enhancements to better align with national needs.

The WB and IFC local offices also expressed keen interest in joining the Steering Committee, reinforcing international support for the platform’s development. This structured approach ensures a seamless implementation process, strengthening Georgia’s infrastructure planning and procurement landscape.

We extend our gratitude to all partners involved and look forward to continued collaboration in realising the full potential of Source in Georgia.
